Alyson Dutton
Alyson began her educational journey with a BA in psychology from Antioch University, San Francisco, graduating in 1989. Always intrigued with the mind-body relationship, she enrolled in a massage therapy training shortly after finishing her undergraduate degree. She graduated in 1991 from The National Holistic Institute and worked as a massage therapist in chiropractor offices for 5 years in Marin County, CA, before returning to school to become an Occupational Therapist.
Alyson chose occupational therapy, as the field blends pathology, anatomy and kinesiology with the psychology of a person: their past experiences, beliefs, aspirations and goals. It was the most holistic profession and approach she could find in the medical field.
Alyson graduated with her degree in OT at the University of Puget Sound in 1996, and was fortunate to complete her training with a team of highly qualified and seasoned hand therapists at St. Joseph’s hospital in Tacoma. She was certified in hand therapy in 2001. After working for Multicare and an outpatient clinic, Alyson joined her husband at Peninsula Physical Therapy in Belfair.
When she is not at work, you will find Alyson walking her dog Murry, cooking, at a yoga class, or hanging out with her family.
